6 Bible Principles to help you grow | Miss Emmy Bee

With these six principles from the Bible, you can prosper in every area of your life.

This is not a story about how to become successful and stay that way. In more ways than one, this is about reinventing yourself and taking on new challenges—which can sometimes feel scary but are always worth doing! We all want freedom from constraint–the ability to reach our highest potential as individuals. Whether you’re starting over or looking to create a life that aligns with your values, the Bible has some insightful advice on how best to do it. The six principles listed below are just some of many applicable verses from the Bible that can help you create a life according to what matters most to you. Here’s how.

What? — The framework

When applied repeatedly, wisdom can help us solve problems, help others, progress, innovate, and create new lives for ourselves and our families. The possibilities are endless. The Bible contains timeless wisdom that can help us solve problems, progress in our careers, or provide guidance when it comes time to make tough decisions.

We need to train our minds in the best way possible, so it stays healthy and clear so to function at peak performance. Our mindset can be transformed when we meditate on the Word of God. To get you started, here are six Bible verses.

How—Bible Principles to gain control of your mind—Steps

1. Getting rid of old thinking patterns—How might that work?

Hebrews 7: 18-19 –_The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God._

The essence of any successful transformation is to get rid of the old and replace it with something better. This principle applies to nature, sports, education, and most certainly to technology. Just think of the many iterations of the iPhone! To put it simply, you cannot achieve something new with the same old methods.

2. The key to regenerating your mind is to change both what goes in and what comes out

Romans 12:2 – Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

For a while in my life, I taught ESL. To reinforce knowledge or skills, you want to first help students recall words or notions learned earlier and then attach new information to them to reinforce understanding. Transforming our mindsets is possible by grafting a new thought pattern onto an old one. Dr. Caroline Leaf writes in her book “Switch on your Brain” that our brain forms new neurons with new facts and truths. Repurpose negative thoughts into positive ones. I can, for instance, stop and become aware of this negative pattern every time I feel tempted to beat myself up about not putting out enough content. Then, reframe it as “I haven’t become consistent in my content production yet, but the more I do, the easier it will become.” A lot of us understand that concept, but the key is to BELIEVE that it works. Just be consistent and patient until we see progress. From within, transformation happens according to what we think, believe, and value.

3. Make sure your mind is filled with good, true, and honourable things

Fill_ your minds with those things that are good and deserve praise; things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honourable. Put into practice what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you.Philippians 4:8-9_

There was a time when I struggled with that verse. Even though I consider myself a positive person, living up to this verse seems to require an extra layer of positivity. What I was skipping over was the deliberate act of filling your mind with things that are true and honourable. In addition, I need to put into practice the good things that I learn and see. As a result, you will improve your attitude and positive vibration, your mood, and your ability to cope with difficult situations. I believe the key to achieving anything starts with a clear and healthy mind.

4. Visualize yourself having already achieved what you envision for yourself.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

According to James Clear’s book, Atomic Habit, a lot of our behaviour is rooted in our identity, in whom we believe to be. To incorporate a new habit, we need to incorporate the mindset or identity of someone who already has it. As an example, I am a content creator who wants to improve my ability to consistently create content. The skills I have to improve are being clear-minded, disciplined, focused, and organized. Conscientiousness and confidence are essential mindsets for all those things. I will achieve the results I want by adopting the thoughts and ways of a confident and conscientious person. Observation, podcasts, books, conversing with such individuals, and meditation are all different ways to acquire the mindset we seek. We will be able to recognize the internal transformation by our new behaviour and accomplishments if we persevere.

5. Learn new things all the time. Gain knowledge, then apply it.

Proverbs 16: 8 The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.

The drive to achieve our goals is what makes us successful in life. It is important to realize, however, that wisdom is the key to success. Whoever gets wisdom loves life; whoever cherishes understanding prospers. Consequently, if you seek wisdom, you will not only positively impact your life, but also be more likely to succeed. This is because understanding leads to prosperity. Understanding something deeply allows you to reach new levels of success and elevate your game. Seek wisdom and understanding if you want to live a prosperous life. They will take you far.

6. Hold on to your vision without wavering.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

One of the most difficult things in life is to hold on to your vision without wavering. It is so easy to get caught up in the turmoil of everyday life and lose sight of what is truly important to you. However, if we can hold fast to the confession of our hope, even when things are tough, we will be rewarded with a life that is full of meaning and purpose. Personally, I know the Lord to be faithful to His promises. He’s always been there for me, and I’ve enjoyed countless blessings from his guidance. In the same way, I strive to be as faithful to what I promise myself, so I can keep building confidence in what I seek to achieve. So, let’s hold on to our vision without wavering because so many great things can happen if we see it through.

Let’s recap—

  1. Get rid of old thinking patterns to grow in knowledge and wisdom. Hebrews 7: 18-19
  2. Renew your mind—Input and Output—Rinse and Repeat Romans 12:2
  3. Fill your minds with those things that are good, true, and honourable — Philippians 4:8-9
  4. Manifest what you hope for by behaving as if you have obtained what you are hoping for –Hebrews 11:1
  5. Become a lifelong learner. Seek to gain and apply knowledge. Proverbs 16: 8
  6. Hold on to your vision without wavering. Hebrews 10:23
Why applying those principles can help you achieve a healthy mindset

Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. — Proverbs 16:32

As anyone who has ever attempted to grow a garden knows, there is a lot of waiting involved. Seeds must be planted at just the right time, and then they must be given time to germinate and grow. The same is true for farmers. They must wait for the right time to plant their crops, and then they must wait for the crops to mature. This can be a difficult thing to do, especially when the weather is less than ideal. However, farmers who are patient and persevere through the bad times are often rewarded with bumper crops. As the saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait.” So, if you’re feeling impatient, remember that good things come to those who are willing to put in the hard work and persevere through tough times.

The pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human right. Additionally, it’s an elusive goal because we are bound by our expectations and ideas about what makes us happy, as well as the experiences that shaped these beliefs in the first place. Having a clear mind leads to freedom. Without worrying about upcoming problems, a person will see only opportunities.  Furthermore, I believe Christ’s love for us is the most powerful force in our lives, lifting us up and freeing us from all that weighs down. His word gives people the power to think differently, which enables them to live a better way of life, as they can enjoy this freedom with gratitude! There is more to freedom than just freedom from restrictions. Living a better life is also part of it. Ultimately, I am writing about mindsets because a clear and free mind can lead to freedom to be who we want to be. I hope this article has been helpful to go on living a freer life.
